Rememberence Sunday

We started this blog for enjoyment, to remind ourselves and others how much fun living with a pack of dogs can be.

We stopped blogging actively when Boots was very ill early this year, and fully expected that by the end of the year we would have lost both Boots and Megan. How wrong could we be.

Loosing Meg was not a surprise, except maybe that it came years later than expected. The day after Meg left us, KuBrin pulled up short limping and hobbled home.

Two weeks later to the day, xrays showed us that there was no hope for him either, and we said goodbye. It was a terrible shock.

The day after KuBrin left us, Cleo stumbled and fell in the house. We though she'd just knocked her leg. The next three months, we saw her health decline rapidly, and after many vet visits the prognosis was not good. She rallied twice and gave us more good days than we could have hoped for.

As the clocks rolled back and an unseasonably early snowfall dusted the ground, we said our final farewells to Cleo as well.

It's not been a good year. Perhaps sometime we'll feel like blogging again, but right now we've not the heart for it.

We're so sorry. Seems like the downs always come in big waves. We think of you often and hope that you start to get more glimmers of the sparks and doggy misdemeaners that make you want to tell the world...

i have read of your losses and felt for you - its only people with dogs who get how it is when they go , and to lose so big a part of your pack in such a short space of time must have been unbearable. hugs to you.

We really don't blame you for not having the heart to blog right now... You deserve a break... It's been such a hard year, a very very hard year for you guys... We are still praying for you all... We love you.

Bloody hell. Losing one special dog was the most excruciatingly painful thing I've ever known - and I simply can't bear to think what you're going through.

Love to you all,

Kerri

Just so gutted for you all.

Did I miss your post about Cleo or is this the first time you mentioned it?

Whatever, thinking of you, and hope next year is better for your pack.

I have just spoken to Graham and we simply are stunned at another loss. I could cry and cry for you. Losing a dog is no less than losing a child and to lose 3 children would be unimagineable. You were so kind to Graham and I will never understand how such good, wonderful people deserve this. You will always be in my thoughts. So much love to you both and your dogs. xxxx

I am so sorry. You have provided such a loving home to all the dogs you have lost. I hope happier times return so that you can share the tales of your fantastic clan.

Won't they be happy playing together!

We're so sorry to hear how much loss you have experienced, especially in such a short period of time. All of you guys are in our thoughts. Big hugs to all, including Boots, Tealeaf and Ducu. I was so glad to see the photos of all three looking so happy over on Flickr.

Kerri - I do not follow the blogs as regularly as I used to when I was dog blogging, so I was really sorry to hear your bad news.

When we were blogging I used to love reading about the Blogs from the Dogs - you have all had such a bad time.

Please accept my condolences.

I hope the sun shines on you again very soon. Sometimes it truly is darkest before the dawn.

Have a good break and be kind to yourselves.

You deserve some good luck.

love and much light,
from Jeannie and Marvin xxxxxxxx

I stopped blogging because of the loss of dogs close to me - even though they weren't my dogs... so I'm not surprised at all that you can't face it when you've lost three. I hope you both come back soon though as I really enjoyed reading your blog! Big snogs from Molls to Tealeaf & Boots & hugs from me to you.

It's Christmas day. Hope you are having some celebrations and lots of treats today.

We think of you often. You were the first blog we followed and we miss you.

Watch plenty of old films and hope the pack get some lovely turkey (although obviously not too much) and any other leftovers

A peaceful Christmas to you
