Missing lurcher

We interrupt this blog to ask anyone in the Southampton area to keep a lookout for Teddy

(click on his name for a link to the missing poster, please feel free to print out, distribute, and spread the word).

If it was one of ours I know we'd be beside ourselves.

Oh, no! We feel so bad for Teddy and his people. Hopefully they will find him soon and bring him home so he can feel safe again.

I'm on the other side of the pond, but my heart goes out to Teddy's family. Losing one of my dogs is my worst nightmare. Please update us if there are any developments. We'll be sending all good vibes his way.

I cannot bear to read about dogs missing or cruelty etc except I do, please let Teddy be found ok.

We are too far to be of any help but our good wishes are with him.

An awful story - I hope he's found soon. I also feel for the friends who were looking after him - they must be feeling pretty awful at eh moment too, whether they were to blame or not....

We hope that Teddy gets back home okay. That is our mommy's worst nightmare to lose one of us.

Hey Gang, We sure hope Ethel ate the 'puter ... that gave us a good chuckle over here. I'm hoping that Wally's absence is because his ma ape is back to school this week and being too harangued by students. Paws crossed.

Any word on Teddy?

Teddy was found, safe and well today. Thank goodness. The relief to know he has finally been caught is immense.

Here are the words of his Mum...

Rachael drove me over there this afternoon and we picked Heidi up, Gill and Dave were already out searching. We headed into the woodland where he was last seen, not a huge area but quite dense and difficult to walk around in.

Heidi spotted him first then I saw him but still he wouldn't come to us. He headed back into the wood and turned and came back to us when he came accross Gill and Dave. Rachael, Heidi and I split up to try and cover the middle and the two far corners of the woodland and he eventually came back out the middle and Heidi threw some chicken down for him then held some more out in her hand which he came and grabbed and she slipped a lead over his neck. I didn't see this as I was in the far corner but Rach phoned me and after I picked myself up I pushed my way back to the middle through the nettles and brambles and broke down, Teddy wagged his tail like never before and even licked my face (he's never done that before) then he laid down and cried and I sat next to him crying. Talk about emotional

He mananged to walk back to the car and had a drink and then two small meals at Heidi's then Rach drove us home and he's had another small meal and some more to drink. He's thin and tired with a few new scratches and scars and some blisters between his toes but otherwise fine. I'll take him to the vets tomorrow for a check up but in himself he's the good old Teds we know and love, demanding cuddles and giving us nose rubs again

Thank you soooo much to everyone who helped us - esp. Heidi and Tim who never gave up hope. There will be a party at some point when we've all recovered and you're all invited!!! Hopefully it'll be at the Happy Cheese in Ashurst so will let you all know

Tonight they will be crying tears of joy instead of tears of sadness and frustration.

My eyes will not stop leaking.

I am delighted that he is finally back with his family. The strength showed by all that worked tirelessly to find him is admirable. Time to rest now, and rejoice in his homecoming.

Welcome Home Teddy. :-)
