Dogs With Blogs Pawty

There is a an online group of perfectly sane dogs with nutty humans who blog for their dogs. Obviously this does not include the Tigh Gadhar hounds (that's us lot here).

Anyway Dogs With Blogs is having its first anniversary and a 48 hour online Wine and Cheese party this weekend.

So what do the dogs think of all this?

Bootsie... "It's so funny - I can't stop laughing"

KuBrin "Dogs with whats?"

Tealeaf "hurry up and get the cheese"

Megan "Do Empresses have to attend?"

Cleo "I think I drank too much wine"

Bums

Now... while we await the artistic rear-end shots... here's a few bums.

Human Bums (Sam & Vicky) with a side order of Boots bum.

Flying bums....

Drinking Bums....

And the good old fall back... Sniffing bums...

And finally there's the old "Who on earth let this bum in"

Field of Dreams

So this business of being a lurcher... what's it all about? We sleep, we eat, we sleep, we play, we sleep, we sofa surf, we sleep, we chase, we sleep, we steal the cat food (sorry about that!).

It's a tough job, but someone has to do it. And then there is all that walking down by the river, and in our local fields..

WEEEEEeeeeeeeeeeeee!

Fwoooor... nice grass.

Boots being slinky...

Cleo thinking about chasing me...

Megan posing.

Megan catching up (she spends so much time posing she gets left behind).

And me... what do I have to say for myself?
"Right turn, Clyde"

It's tough, being a lurcher.

WHO eats with deely-boppers ?

Sometimes the mummy (and the daddy) eschew forks in favour of some weird pointy things:

Dad. I've got no thumbs, I can't go chopsticks. Help please.

Aww - Dad, nk'ooo.

MUM! MUM! Did you see what DAD did????? I want some!

AND US!

Ha ! My daddy likes me bestest - AND I get to eat off his deely-boppers.

Bones.

Tealeaf here...

After our uncharacteristically early morning wakeup call on Saturday the humans disappeared for a bit leaving us hounds to have our customary post-breakfast snooze (sofas are optional for this).

The good news is that they did go to visit our local very-nice-butchers. The butchers know all about us dogs and keep bones for us (in exchange for a small donation to Sue Ryder Care which is really nice, cos everyone benefits: we get bones, the butchers get rid of them, and the charity gets some money (and our humans get some peace while we munch)).
So, if you can overlook the similarity to a scene from the BBC documentary "Death in the Serengeti", here's us lot doing our "Mad dogs and Englishmen" act on Saturday:

Here is Meggie-moo sneaking her's inside, even though she KNOWS it's not allowed.

Cleo getting down for a good munch.

QB NOT hogging the biggest bone.

Boots being very dainty with his.

ME hogging the biggest bone (actually I like to collect a pile and keep them all for myself).

Exhausting work, this bone chewing. And it was hot.

Time for more sofa surfing methinks.

Not Enough Sofas?

Cleo here.

Someone commented that we possibly do not have enough sofas. While I'm sure it's true that you can NEVER have enough sofas (and Alpha-B did give away one of ours to some more needy dogs), we do just have enough sofas (if you count the chair) to go around, as long as the humans sit on the floor.

This was our saturday morning wakeup call:

Me on the Blue Sofa

Tealeaf on "his" (yeah -right!) chair

KuBrin on the green 2 seater being woken up by the DogFather

Boots on the green 3 seater

Megan on her very own sofa. "Would you get that camera out of my face - I'm TRYING to sleep"

As you can see, none of us are in any particular rush to get up. We generally hang around working on our sofa-surfing techniques until the telltale sound of bowl rattling rouses us. Neither do we seem to spend a huge amount of time sleeping in DOG beds (of which there were at last count 8 in the house).

We had a really great weekend, though the weather here was VERY hot, we managed to make the humans stay at home almost the whole time, apart from one essential trip to the very-nice-butchers (more of them... later).

Chairs

Tealeaf here..

I think that Ernest's dream chair looks suspiciously like mine. Except mine is in green leather.

Waddya reckon? Did Alpha B pay $2200 for it?

Of course - his might be wider... but then he does need room for his ears.

Deerhound qualities....

Now there is a very special wolfie out there in blog land called Finnegan. He is special because he has fallen for my Deerhound qualities.

As you can see... I DO make wolfies go weak at the knees.....

But us Empresses are famously hard to please and are there are very important choices to be made....

"Finnegan or steak.... Finnegan or steak...."

Right now it's between Finnegan and Steak, but I don't have a picture of Finnegan.

I think I need a Finnegan pic.
